A Throwback to Old Key West
|
Safe Harbour Marina is a deepwater (14 ft. min.) recreational marina located on the Atlantic side of Stock Island. Originally constructed in the late 1950s and located in the heart of the last vestiges of the commercial fishing and shrimping docks, Safe Harbour Marina is a throwback to the old Key West.
Safe Harbour Marina is really a very eclectic collection of locals, transplants, snowbirds, artists, and craftsmen. This unique encampment is located next to the shrimp docks of Stock Island. If you are traveling the area by boat and want to stop in for a stay call Dockmaster Walt Crumbley (305-294-9797) for slip availability or other local info. |
The marina service infrastructure includes 110/220-volt electrical service, AT&T broadband cable, SaniSailor Marine Pumpout, water, and telephone to every slip. A coin-operated laundry with wash\dry\fold service is available as well as two bathhouses. In January, Paradise Powder Coating will be available. Powder coating is a process where the object, be it an engine exhaust manifold or piece of lawn furniture, is sandblasted, coated with a ceramic powder, and then fired in an oven to produce a very durable, weather-resistant finish. |
|
The marina also offers a specialized forklift service, utilizing Lull® extension boom forklifts for mast and engine removal at affordable prices. The marina usually stays pretty full, but we will do the best we can to accommodate you and contribute to the enjoyment of your stay in the Key West area. Occasionally, we also have houseboat apartments for rent as well. The party continues...
